Our 200 seat Chapel of the Good Shepherd and accompanying Lion & Lamb Banquet Hall sit atop a hill overlooking a majestic view of Watts Bar Lake, a beautiful setting for both indoor and outdoor weddings.  Timber frame construction of the Chapel of the Good Shepherd is based on building principles from medieval times. The superstructure is held together by oak dowels without nails or screws. Pecky cypress from the swamps of Louisiana was transported to the current location to make up the wainscoting, and vertical grain yellow pine was used for the floor. The seating capacity of 200 has housed concerts, presentations and over 1,000 weddings since its completion in 1999. Downstairs are dressing rooms for bride and groom, and a family parlor. This elegant Tennessee chapel is the ideal location for indoor weddings. To contribute to this most important day, Whitestone Country Inn offers you your own Wedding Director and our in-house food service, with optional services of a minister, musicians, horse-drawn carriage, florist, and videographer. The Lion and Lamb Gazebo is a small, quaint gazebo that sits on a high knoll with breathtaking views of Watts Bar Lake, a few short steps from the Lion & Lamb conference center. It is connected to a heart-shaped, stone courtyard which can seat up to 200 guests for out-door weddings. Sunrise, sky blue mid-day or sunset weddings on this special gas lit patio are a photographers dream and wedding memories forever. With lodging located in the Barn, Schoolhouse, Rose Cottage, Rivendell Cottage, Farmhouse, and Lion & Lamb, Whitestone is the perfect place for your guests. Whitestone has 22 rooms to select from, each one spacious and tastefully decorated, with a charm of its own. Every room has a private bath with a whirlpool tub, a cozy fireplace, king or queen bed, comfortable chairs, writing desks and enough quiet for an afternoon nap. The rooms and suites are named for birds in the neighboring Wildlife and Waterfowl Refuge. Stained glass transoms at most doors depict the bird for which it is named.
